Day Camp
During the week of July 8th 2013, the Majic Premier Soccer Club will be hosting its first annual Speed and Agility Day Camp. The Camp will be held at Bridgeport’s Kennedy Stadium Monday July 8th, through Friday July 12th, 8am to 11am each day.
The camp will be run by one Jamaica’s top Track and Field coaches, John Cente. Coach Cente is an internationally Certified Track and Field Trainer. He has played a major role in Jamaica’s assent to the top of the Track and Field World.
Coach Cente served as the Head Track and Field coach at ST. Jago High School from 1988 to 1998. ST Jogo is one of the top Track and Field Schools in Jamaica. The School has produced such outstanding Sprinters as Yohan Blake, the second fastest man ever, next to his Country man Usain Bolt. Some of the other great Sprinters that have excelled under the tutelage of Coach Cente , and have all gone on to represent Jamaica are, Donavan Powell, Warren Johnson, Ricardo Williams, Omar Bailey, and Michael Williams just to name a few.
While coaching at ST. Jago, Coach Cente also served on the staff of the vaunted Jamaica Track and Field team. He was a member of the staff for six years, four years as an assistant, and two years as the head coach.
Coach Cente is also an accomplish FIFA Soccer official. He has worked as assistant referee in such international tournaments as the 1993 U17 FIFA World Cup in Japan, and the 1993 FIFA Gold Cup in Mexico. He has also worked the sidelines in numerous World Cup Qualifying games. Coach Cente is currently working on the Staff of the Flying Angel Track Team in Toronto Canada, where he currently resides.
The cost of the camp will be only $299 per person, which includes a Camp T-Shirt. There will be a 50% multiple sibling discount, and all Bridgeport residence will also receive a 50% discount.
